Synopsis

The Man Who Was Thursday: A Nightmareis a metaphysical thriller novel written by the American theologian and philosopherGilbert Keith Chestertonwho is best known as Christian apologist. His major works include Heretics, Orthodoxy, Manalive and the fiction detective series Father Brown. Scotland recruits Gabriel Syme for their anti-anarchist wing in a secret assignment.
In a party Gabriel ends up in a debate with anarchist poet Lucian Gregory over the meaning of poetry. In an election to the European anarchist council Gregory fails to win, but Syme wins and get elected.  It is later revealed that all the seven council members are not anarchist, rather part of their anti-anarchist wing and all of them fighting each other, not against real anarchists.
